Recommended Device Settings for Motivity Workforce Android App
Last Updated: Tuesday, October 24th 2023
If you are having issues with jobs being delivered to and from an engineers phone or tablet in a timely manner, then barring poor signal, it is likely the settings on their phone could be slowing data transmissing down.
Here are our recommendations to get the best performance from the Motivity Workforce Android app
Switch Mobile Data ON.
This is paramount for job data to be sent when out of the office.
You can usually find this option under: Settings - Connections - Data Usage - Mobile Data switch ON
Switch Wi-Fi OFF
Unless you are explictly using a wi-fi hotspot or a wi-fi only device, we recommend turning Wi-Fi off.
This stops your device connecting to random Wi-Fi points when travelling about. A lot of Wi-Fi access points require you to sign in to actually get onto the internet.
Some older devices think you're connected to Wi-Fi at this point, even though data will be blocked until your sign-in / register
We've found newer devices are less prone to this issue.
You can usually find this option under: Settings - Connections - Wi-FI switch OFF
Turn off Mobile Data Saver
This is usually under: Settings - Connections - Data Useage - Data Saver OFF
Or alternatively some devices have the option to exclude apps from Data Saver so you can add Motivity into this exceptions list
